Supplemental Security Income, SSI, is a federal program for people with low income.
In order to qualify, you must meet all of the following conditions:
- You must be 65 or older, or have a disability;
- You must be a U.S. citizen or be in the U.S. legally;
- You must apply for Social Security or other benefits, if you qualify for them.
If you are disabled, you must accept vocational rehabilitation services if they
are offered.
California supplements Social Security Income, SSI, from State funds.
